SPECO was established in 1958 with the name as Shandong Electric Power Manufacture and Repair Factory. The main business was power equipment repairing and maintenance. In 1969, SPECO started to manufacture 110kV and above class transformer.

Through more than 54 years development, SPECO now is the largest transformer manufacturer in China, which mainly produces various power transformers from 10kV to 1000kV, with the annual producing capacity of exceeding 40GVA.

SPECO, with 1200 staffs, has the total capital more than 205 million USD. The workshops and office area of SPECO is around 130,000 square meters. The products cover AC power transformers from 35KV up to 1000 KV, DC converter transformers from 200 KV up to 800 KV, reactors from 220 KV up to 1100 KV, distribution transformers (oil immersed, cast resin, amorphous alloy) and smart power transformer systems.

Shunt reactor made by SPECO covers voltage from 10kV to 1100kV and capacity from 5kVar to 400MVar.  The product is single phase, oil immersed shunt reactor, with core structure, natural oil circle cooling system. It has characteristics of high voltage, large capacity, silicon steel core of low loss and low noise, advanced magnetic field leakage control technique avoiding partial hot spot on the core. It also has low temperature rise, low noise, slight vibration, and reliable and good appearance.
